The acronym CATCH means Crisis and Trauma Clinical Hypnotherapy.
All the therapists at CatchPTSD.com are experts in helping PTSD sufferers eliminate their symptoms, and fast.
But we do it in a way that is a little different to most hypnotherapists.
Firstly, we have generally found that all PTSD-type symptoms originate from an emotional trauma that might have happened a long time ago.
Even if you have been subject to traumatic incidents recently, the likelihood is they are triggering an emotion you have felt before – like a theme in your life.
We believe that your body knows what happened back then, even if your mind can’t remember, and is creating symptoms to try to make you understand it, but sometimes you just can’t.
CatchPTSD hypnotherapists have the tools to help you find that root cause, and dissolve it’s impact on your body.
These tools include:
Deep somnambulistic hypnosis – a state like sleepwalking – where you become so relaxed you can’t even feel your arms and your legs. Even if you haven’t relaxed in years, it still works. We use the cadence of our voice, and guided visualization and sensation, to lull you into deep relaxation.
Many hypnotherapists will tell you hypnosis is not relaxation or sleep, and they may even try to keep you conscious throughout the hypnosis process. CatchPTSD hypnotherapists don’t do that. We let your body decide how deeply you relax, and even if you fall asleep it still works. The subconscious never sleeps, and this is a subconscious therapy. Other hypnotherapists will tell you that’s impossible. But they don’t see what we see – day in, day out – people getting better all by themselves.
We don’t ask you to speak during hypnosis. However you relax, where ever you go, whatever you see, or hear, or sense, or feel – like in a dream – is a private journey. You can tell us afterwards what you experienced, if you want to share it, and discuss it, but there is no obligation. Your body already knows what’s wrong. The only person it needs to tell is YOU.
We believe the deeper the relaxation, the faster the cure. So did the Egyptians!
To stay conscious enough to talk to us, we believe, could interfere in what the body is trying to tell YOU. So we don’t do that.
We do lead clients in relaxation with suggested visualisations but sometimes the mind will ignore our efforts and show the person something completely different. And all hail that. Only your body knows what YOU need to see, feel, to understand.
CatchPTSD therapists will never try to tell you what is wrong with you. How could we, if even you don’t know? The whole process goes at your pace, doing exactly what your body needs, and not what suits the therapist.
People ask, how long does it take? As long as the body thinks you need to be resilient enough to understand everything. That relaxation and insight builds resilience in you.
Some hypnotherapists say they can clear PTSD symptoms in one session. That has not been our experience. It has happened, where everything has been so close to the surface the body has told people why in one go. But it’s rare. Clients do feel much better after just one session, but in general it takes four to six sessions for everything to be understood and all symptoms to stop. Permanently. It can also take more. As I say, the hypnotherapist is not in control of that. You are!
Sometimes people keep coming back for multiple sessions because it just feels soooo good! People sometimes want MORE than one session a week. But that is a good gap to process everything you are being shown.
Sessions tend to take about 90 minutes to two hours, so unlike so many other therapies you are not on a clock. The body needs to feel as if the therapist is as invested in the process as you are.
Almost all CatchPTSD therapists work online, so you can choose anyone from the CatchPTSD.com map, not just someone close to you. Hypnotherapy works SO well online, and the best thing is you don’t even need to leave the house if you really don’t feel able to. We come to you, virtually, and you don’t even need to clean up. We treat many a client lying down in their own bed!
This is an easy, gentle, non-confrontational, therapy, at your fingertips. Call us. We are here to help!
